Environmental/Operations Manager - Cranbrook

**Primary Location(s)**: Cranbrook, BC
**Office or Field**:Office and field.
Flexible work schedule.
**Travel**:Some field work and travel are expected, but the majority of work will be in beautiful East Kootenay Valley Region of central British Columbia!
**Compensation**:$40 - $55 / hour plus travel expenses, professional dues, benefits, and year-end bonus.
Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership, mentorship and training to junior environmental staff by effectively delegating tasks.
- Deliver professional guidance and advice to clients, and project management for a broad range of environmental projects in a variety of natural resource sectors.
- Interact with clients on projects as Environmental/Discipline Lead or Project Manager.
- As part of the larger DWB team, leverage existing client relationships to grow environmental market share.
- Develop quotes, proposals, and other business development related activities to establish new client relationships.
- Manage company equipment, vehicles, and office needs.
**Your education, training, and memberships**:
- Must be a BC-regulated environmental professional (i. e. , RPBio, PAg, RPF, PEng).
**Your skills and experience**:
- Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated relevant work experience.
- Effective relationship and networking skills to cultivate relationships with clients, First Nations, regulators, and team members.
- Project management skills to coordinate and support team members and manage client expectations and project safety, budgets, and equipment.
- Ability to review and prepare professional reports, study designs, and to develop project proposals and quotes.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations in BC to ensure legal compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and training junior team members and supporting their professional development.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workloads.
- Desirable traits:
- Willingness to present at seminars or conferences and for networking with other professionals and prospective clients.
- A focus on results to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Ability to adapt to changes throughout project life-cycles.
