EQUIPMENT ENGINEER:
You will be a key contributor to SiC Technology volume ramp-up in ST.
The work location will be in the new mass production fab in Catania for the manufacturing of devices on SiC substrates. This facility is a first of a kind in Europe for the production in volume of 8" SiC devices, integrating all steps in the production flow.
Your main task as an Equipment Engineer will be to support production activities through maximizing up-time and performance of critical process equipment. Monitoring, maintenance, and proactive troubleshooting are key to achieving this goal. In the early stages of the new Fab, special focus will be on the start-up and qualification of equipment to support the capacity ramp-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and qualify new tool sets according to planned schedule
Assume ownership of maintaining and calibrating production tools in accordance with specifications.
Improve tool up-time availability and utilization efficiency.
Establish Preventive Maintenance strategies and protocols.
Work closely with process engineers to understand equipment interactions and limitations relative to operating specifications.
Solve critical equipment issues, leveraging on experience and systematic approach.
Identify and pursue potential opportunities for hardware capability enhancement.
Drive continuous improvement projects, with the support of internal and external resources.
Support production as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and capabilities:
Bachelor/Master in scientific subjects, e. g. in Physics, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical), Mechatronics
Ability to read and understand operating manuals, diagrams and schematics
Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
Accuracy, attention to detail and good manual skills
Fluent English is a must.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
