**About the role**:
DNV, the independent expert in assurance and risk management company, is seeking an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Consultant within our Risk Management Advisory Middle East, Africa, and Southern Europe (MEA & SE) section. You will be based in Milan/Vimercante.
Your proven track record as a social expert and your solid technical understanding perfectly aligns with our commitment to driving sustainability in the ever-evolving energy sector and helping our clients to navigate the diverse energy transition and climate challenges of our time.
As a member of our dedicated ESG team, you will work with customers struggling with the challenges of delivering on climate and broader sustainability expectations. You will be a trusted advisor, helping them make critical strategic decisions in an equitable, transparent, and profitable manner.
As an ESG Consultant you will be:
- Conducting ESG due diligence studies for assets in the energy sector, focusing on the social context.
- Carrying out Social Assessments, Human Rights Impact Assessments, and other social studies according to international standards.
- Creating and delivering ESG Strategies and sustainability programs, including policy and procedures.
- Performing ESG materiality assessments for companies or portfolio level.
- Aiding the implementation of ESG frameworks and standards, supporting reporting and disclosure of customers.
- Evaluation of ESG performance of companies in the relevant sectors, focusing on the social context
- Providing key research, analysis and advisory insight and support to our customers.
- Evaluation of stakeholder engagement, social studies, social risk assessment process against international standards.

**About you**:
- Demonstrable technical experience of 3 to 6 years, ideally consultancy experience within the sustainability and ESG space including:
- ESG Due Diligence (buyer, vendor, and lenders).
- Social Assessment (IFC, Equator Principles, Stakeholder Engagement, ILO standards, Diversity and Inclusion, with particular focus on Human Rights).
- Supply Chain risk analysis OECD (Social and Governance).
- ESG Roadmap.
- EU Taxonomy Assessment based on the new Minimum Safeguards Draft Proposal (MS).
- Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, social studies or similar.
- Knowledge of sustainable development goals, The Paris Agreement framework, climate change and energy transition frameworks and standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI); Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI); Equator Principles, IFC Standards, ILO Standards, OECD Guidelines, ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility), SA8000, ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), etc.
- Excellent report writing, oral communication and presentation skills in both English and Italian (proficiency in Spanish and French is considered a plus).
- Flexible attitude to working in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to collaborate with others, plan and prioritize activities
