**Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026** is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2, 300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22, 000 square km.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.
**Position**:
We are looking for** Event Manager Paralympic Torch Relay.
The Paralympic Torch Relay (PTR) is one of the most important communication tools to promote the Paralympic spirit and values putting the local population in touch with the Paralympic Games and keeping the momentum during the transition period from the Olympic Games.
It is a Roadshow event involving public stakeholders, sponsors and partners to promote and spread the Games through the population of the Host Country.
The PTR is an itinerary event, conducted mainly outdoors, involving about 500 torchbearers mainly in the competition venues of the Paralympic Games carried by a road convoy and a relay.
The Paralympic Relay Event Manager will build the PTR of Milano Cortina 2026 to:
- Create the biggest possible legacy in terms of changing attitudes about disability by creating opportunities for persons with disabilities and improving accessibility.
- Be a fully inclusive event that involves the entire community.
- Create opportunities for participation of people with disabilities and different organizations related to support people with disabilities.
- Promote the values of the Paralympic Games, aligning torchbearer selection with these.
- Manages event operations and communication and promotion activities on PTR
- Manages PTR Route planning and development matching operational needs and inputs from the Presenting Partner and different stakeholders, respecting timings and masterplan
- Coordinates the relationship with PTR Presenting Partner and sponsors and integrates communications and promotions needs with PTR operations plan and torchbearers operations.
- Coordinates with Milano Cortina internal functions (ex.
Authority Relations, Security, Technology, Marketing, Logistics, Communication and Media Relation, Digital, Image & Look, Education, Events, Olympic Legacy, ) and their external suppliers to produce the PTR event.
- Coordinates activities with the PTR Production Company on event operations and organization, communication and promotional aspects (route planning, torchbearers ops, city celebrations, alternative mode of relay, group torchbearers, ceremonies and communication moments, special events, production of media contents)
- Help and support the Head of OTR & PTR to build and define the communication and promotion strategy for PTR including TB selection criteria.
- Coordinates relationship with Local Authorities (event operations and planning, people involvement, communication and promotion aspects, digital and media relations on PTR).
**Requirements**:
Work experience and Background:
- Event management and operations
- Event planning and budgeting
- Communication and marketing skills, media relation, social and digital media management experience;
- Work experience in an International Company (media and communication department, event management)
Personal skills and requirements:
- Fluent in communicating and writing both in Italian and English
- University degree and highest level of education: able to speak and interact with International and National Public Authorities, International Partners, General Public
- Previous experience in Olympic Games organisation or senior role in event management and communication and promotion departments within big events organization
- Team work and positive attitude
- Flexible, well organised; customer service oriented
- Able to withstand stress during peak periods
- Attention to details
- Polite and friendly
- Available to travel daily for long period and during the event for more than 2 weeks
