Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2, 300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22, 000 square km. The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina, and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI). Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government. PositionEvent Services is the functional area, within the organizing committee for the Milano Cortina 2026 winter games (Olympics and Paralympics), that is in charge to plan, design, and provide a safe and welcoming visit to all ticketed events at the official competition venues and other services to accredited stakeholders. The Event Services Cluster Manager will be the Team Member who will lead the venue-based planning efforts and oversee the development of the Operational Plans and teams for a specific number of venues. This is a crucial role to guarantee consistency of the planning across all venues and will monitor the status of gaps towards Games Time.
It is also a key member of the Team for escalation of issues, both internally from Event Services and from other Functional areas. He/She will be involved in the following activities:Responsible for the development and implementation of venue Event Services operations plans for a cluster of venues;Monitor the tasks and progress of the Master Schedule items to be accomplished;Develop and monitor progress of venue planning with a focus on risk issues;Monitor further development of Event Services venue operating plans by Event Services Venue Managers for consistency across the Games;Train, coach and mentor Event Services venue managers and deputy venue managers in the specific duties of their jobs;Define and develop services levels, policies, and procedures; identify gaps and overlaps;Define staffing plans, strategies, and deployments across a cluster of venues;Work closely with the Functional Areas key planners;Apply the guidelines and legislation pertinent to spectator management activities at games venues;Represent Event Services at multi–agency meetings for specific clusters of venues;RequirementsAbility to manage numerous projects and/or tasks at the same time;Ability to lead a team of managers as well as be a team player when led by others;Ability to work under pressure and under tight timelines;Specific knowledge on crowd management strategies;Specific knowledge of spectator management strategies;Knowledge and Experience of Olympic Games Event Services operations and goals;Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality output;Support and manage multiple complex venues and the venue teams;Ability to collaborate effectively to ensure delivery of mutual objectives;Considers impact of decisions on individuals, wider organization and commercially;Generates ideas to improve processes and create efficiencies;Prepared to challenge information and bureaucracy;Able to adapt style of communication and approach;Communicates clearly and concisely.
