Job Description Summary**: At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

External funding provides/grants further research and innovation for developing sustainable propulsion systems, promotes digitalization enhancing the competitiveness, optimizes the impact of industrial investments and is a powerful tool for creation of jobs, engagement of talents and a boost for our Company's growth.

By embracing the cultural elements and essential tools of Lean, the External Funding Manager will lead the timely acquisitions of external funding contracts, in Italy and Europe, related to both the civil and the defense sectors, achieving measurable results supporting to the Company's investments initiatives and technology development efforts.

**Essential responsibilities

- Support the analysis of the opportunities scenario detecting the window of options emerging from the evolution of the public policies and their relevance, with a firm consideration of the Company's technology and industrial growth roadmap

- Facilitate the company's awareness on funding opportunities and frameworks, including their policy objectives and requirements, as well as strengthen and update our funding strategies / industrial playbook

- Identify critical requirements of funding and tenders and call for proposals, develop action plans to both ensure timely participation and address risks mitigation

- Enable cross-functional team collaboration and lean management for the external funding processes

- Manage funding Authorities' requirements, achieve Grant Agreement Signatures, meet measurable annual goals

- Develop trustworthy relationships with the internal and external stakeholders

- Manage coordination and collaboration with the global external funding team.

**Qualification/Requirements

- Master's degree in engineering or economics or in related fields.

Other graduates with strong experience in the role may be considered as well

- Solid experience in managerial roles and in external funding programs

- Knowledge of research & innovation investments dynamics

- Horizontal leadership skills, teamwork, and cross-function collaboration excellence

- Strong ability to translate and address customer needs

- Effective skills on scenario analysis and decision-making

- Clear influencing, interpersonal and relationship skills

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills in Italian and English

- EU work permit.

**Desired Characteristics

- Experience in Business development or commercial area will be a plus

- Understanding of the aviation market and trends.
