Extrusion Process Engineer
Envolve Consulting, an independent company active in management search, selects a skill and motivated Extrusion Process Engineer for a prestigious multinational company operating in the plastics manufacturing sector.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of extrusion processes, a strong understanding of plastic materials, and the ability to optimize production processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Main tasks and responsibilities: • Design, develop, and optimize extrusion processes for a variety of plastic materials.
• Monitor and adjust extrusion lines to ensure consistent product quality and production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to extrusion equipment, material flow, temperature control, and process parameters.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
• Conduct trials and experiments to test new materials, processes, or equipment.
• Analyze data from production runs to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for extrusion processes.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel on extrusion-related processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Work closely with the R&D team to assist in the development of new products and processes.
• Maintain documentation related to process changes, improvements, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new extrusion machinery.
Education and experience: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in extrusion process engineering within the plastics industry.
• Strong understanding of extrusion machinery, die design, and process control.
• Experience with material properties and their impact on the extrusion process.
• Knowledge of plastic materials, including thermoplastics, and their behavior during extrusion.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet production targets.
• Familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems (ISO, etc. ).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
