YOUR ROLE
Within the Facilities Operation organization, we are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and skilled candidate to provide expertise in Facility Management Control System (FMCS/SCADA) engineering, project management and maintenance strategy to ensure that facilities projects, operations and maintenance meet the highest international standards and ST procedures.
The candidate should have a high level of knowledge of control systems components, PLC, HMI, SCADA architecture and standards, networking and communication protocols, cybersecurity, equipment, project development and maintenance procedures and should support the maintenance and operations departments in the correct project development, design compliance and adherence to international standards, operations and maintenance activities.
FMCS technical compliance: Ensure that the FMCS are designed, constructed, operated and maintained in accordance with latest technical, health and safety (EHS) and applicable regulatory standards and the documentation is kept up to date and effective. Evaluate the logical control philosophy and design to ensure reliability, production continuity and robustness of the systems.
Cybersecurity: Ensure that control systems are designed, programmed and built to the latest technical standards and best practices for cyber security.
Design Standards:Develop, deploy and implement the Company's Basis of Design standards for new plant/projects to ensure compliance with the Company's standards from the initial design phase.
Technical Specifications:Provide standards, specifications and procedures to be followed for the design development, construction, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance of the FMCS.
Equipment Supply:Develop technical specifications for equipment supply and interface with equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with technical standards, documentation, quality standards and timely delivery.
Installation Monitoring:Oversee the installation of FMCS equipment to ensure project compliance, completeness of documentation, safety, performance and reliability.
Maintenance Programs:Develop preventive and predictive maintenance and inspection programmes to ensure optimum performance and reliability of FMCS equipment.
Service Supplier Interface: interface with service providers to ensure the quality of activities, proper documentation management and correct historicisation of events.
Root Cause Analysis:Perform root cause analysis, risk analysis and troubleshooting to minimise downtime and improve FMCS efficiency.
Technical Support:Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support to investigation teams as required.
Standards and Procedures:Provide standards, specifications and procedures to be followed for design development, construction, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance.
O&M Support:Support the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department in selecting best available technologies, implementing best practices and improving cost savings, reliability, energy efficiency and performance. Provide technical support to the procurement function in the selection and qualification of suppliers.
Training and Mentoring:Train and mentor O&M teams to improve their technical skills and knowledge, and transfer information to ensure safe and efficient system management.
Efficiency and Reliability Improvement:Provide support and guidance to the Sites Facilities team to identify efficiency improvement opportunities and establish a roadmap within existing operations, focusing on energy efficiency retrofits and reliability improvements.
Regulatory Documentation:Support the site O&M facilities team in managing regulatory documentation and keeping the design documentation up to date.
Project Leadership:Lead for Site local projects for conceptual to feasibility, revamping and new Facilities projects including:
Validation of the Scope of Works.
Technical and economic evaluation and assessment of tenders. Design validation: Review and approve P&IDs, logic functions and loop controls for facilities systems across all design stages, including conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering.
Schedule definition and monitoring of the schedule in alignment with cash flow.
Technical Reporting: Consolidate, update and report at central level the technical characteristics of the installed base of assets and collect and review data to support the definition of modernisation plans and priorities.
Technology Updates:Stay informed and up to date with the latest technology and developments in SCADA, PLC, HMI design standards, communication protocols and network standards engineering.
YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of industrial SCADA Control system design and construction, PLC, HMI, network communication protocols and cybersecurity; semiconductor experience is a strong plus.
Knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as design specifications and guidelines.
Ability to present technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, interacting with management and senior engineers and across organisational boundaries.
Ability to analyse complex engineering problems and support effective problem-solving solutions.
Ability to identify potential risks in the design, operation and maintenance of facilities control systems and develop mitigation strategies.
Willingness to learn and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and energy efficient design principles.
Understanding of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance requirements.
Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work in a global environment.
Coordinate and collaborate in real time with colleagues from different disciplines, taking a globally responsible and integrated approach.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
Above 10 years' experience in large organization within the Semiconductor / Oil and Gas / Power Generation and Distribution / Chemical / Industrial Manufacturing / Metallurgical plant in a key role for SCADA/Automation engineering.
Demonstrated Involvements, in key role positions, in large and complex brownfield and greenfield construction projects.
Excellent abilities in reporting and synthesizing complex information.
Familiarity with international standards, technical codes and regulations pertinent to the role.
Master's Degree/bachelor's degree in electronic/automation Engineering
Ability to work independently with few directions and supervision.
Good negotiation and emotional intelligence skills
Experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. Demonstrated leadership in driving projects to successful completion.
Fluent English is mandatory, French is a plus
Experience in previous Projects in Semiconductor is a plus
