Your Opportunity The Farm Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all farm maintenance activities.
Core Responsibilities Responsible for site maintenance, including preventive and repair maintenance programs.
Develop and oversee all maintenance systems including work order requests, and emergency response procedures.
Manage completion of all maintenance and repair requests from production in a cost effective and timely manner.
Oversee and manage maintenance parts inventory including material ordering.
Responsible for all infrastructure maintenance including all water systems, roads, fencing, electrical, propane tanks and delivery, etc.
Develop a working knowledge of farm equipment and systems.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of department vehicles and equipment Supervise and schedule the work of the maintenance technicians and maintenance contracts.
Ensure farm biosecurity is maintained.
Assist with department related budgeting and financial control.
Responsible for complying with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield subscribes.
Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
Read and understand the company's emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
Responsible for understanding all safety requirements of the job and for performing the job in compliance with the safety requirements.

Associate Degree from an accredited college and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required Must have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems, ability to effectively use and understand email and spreadsheets.
Experience with workorder systems.
Ability to develop working relationships, effectively communicate in one-on-one situations, within small groups (to present information), across departments, including up the chain of command.
Experience with cutting and welding helpful, working knowledge of electrical, ventilation and pneumatics helpful.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities Assist site production managers in supervision of internal maintenance specialists and coordination of outside maintenance contractors.
