About Villa La Massa
Sitting on the banks of the Arno river, in the heart of the Chianti wine region, Villa La Massa is located a few kilometers from Florence's city center.
Built in the 13th century as an enchanting country house for an aristocratic Florentine family, it was owned by European aristocrats until 1948, before it was transformed into a luxury hotel.
Villa La Massa welcomes today 51 rooms and three private residences, each distinct and uniquely designed; an elegant restaurant, Il Verrocchio, with its magnificent terrace overlooking the Arno river, L'Oliveto Bistrot, with a more informal atmosphere and the Medicean Bar, with its 19th-century frescos, a Spa and a curated selection of activities and experiences to embrace the quintessence of Tuscany lifestyle.
Position Summary
As an F&B Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our restaurants, bar, in-room dining and banqueting activities to ensure service excellence and outlets profitability.
**Job Description**:
- Handle successfully all aspects of restaurants, bar, in-room dining and banqueting operations including staffing, scheduling, training, health & safety and inventory management
- Drive service quality and outlets efficiency following service standards and departmental policies and procedures
- Think creatively to identify opportunities and develop solutions to enhance profitability and service performance
- Monitor all food and beverage operations and make adjustments where necessary
- Liaises with the Culinary division to ensure a smooth and high-level dining and banqueting experience
- Foster a culture of growth, development and performance to ensure engagement, high morale and service excellence
- Conduct regular divisional meetings and ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary
- Establish and maintain efficient internal communication and coordination with all relevant departments to ensure the highest level of service, optimum work and productivity
- Nurture the relationship with all guests acknowledging and showing an authentic interest in preferences to ensure a personalized approach to interactions, suggestions and enquires
- Address and handle guests' complaints with empathy and understanding and ensure a timely resolution
- Take an active involvement in department's training needs and activities
- Use the property systems to track communications, requests and complaints
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in luxury hotels or restaurant industry in a similar role
- High standards of professional manner with exceptional communication and organization skills
- Business acumen, knowledge of food and beverage operations and market trends
- Strategic planning and decision making skills
- Strong written and spoken Italian and English
- Knowledge of Open Table, Micros and departmental standards (LQA, Forbes)
- Legal right to work in Italy
