Fcas Control System Architect
Job Description Summary**: The FCAS Control System Architect is responsible to drive engineering activities for system architecture definition, design, requirements specification and early validation for Future Combat Air Systems full authority propulsion controls; to conduct numerical analyses to demonstrate the control system performances, stability and robustness throughout the aircraft flight envelope; to liaise with System Engineering and the broader engineering team in support of technology developments, validation and accrual throughout tech mat programs.
**Essential Responsibilities
- To develop and document the control system architecture and the relevant requirements with prototypal implementation of Model Based Designs.
- To carry out with limited guidance trade-off, performance, stability and robustness clearance analyses, validation studies aiming at meeting the projected propulsion system operative and functional requirements.
- To support testing and validation activities, based on technology maturation objectives, of the control system/subsystems, up to the final stages of the propulsion system integration within laboratory environments and/or ground test demonstration vehicles.
- To develop and maintain the high-fidelity dynamic model of complex electric, hydraulic or pneumatic actuations, turbomachinery, and integrated propulsion system.
- To contribute to the development of the Model Based Designs for software developments.
- To collaborate with the appointed Avio Aero engineering team stakeholders in the execution of the project development, product definition, technology maturation activities.
- To contribute to the liaison with industrial partners with control system design solutions to ensure the overall propulsion system integration and compliance with the intended functions.
- To assure that the documentation of technical data, generated for the assigned tasks, is consistent with engineering policies and industrial procedures for MOD driven developments.
- To formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments.
- To monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.
- To contribute to technical and program reviews
**Qualifications/Requirements
- Master of Science in Aerospace or Computer Science Engineering
- Well trained in either SPOCT or Controls System Theory
- Experience in a similar engineering position
- Proficiency in written and oral English
- Good Knowledge of Computer Aided Control System Design tools (MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow)
- EU work permit
