Field Sales Specialist Life Science
The **Opportunity**:
The purpose of the Field Sales Specialist role is to support the sales team in creating sustainable and profitable relationships with customers by offering expert technical and commercial support in Life Science discipline.
You will be responsible for increasing sales by actively selling the Avantor portfolio of products to end users using a formal selling approach. The Field
Sales Specialist will work closely with the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term goals in line with company business strategy.
The position is based in Lombardy.

Avantor's Life Science Field Sales Specialist is part of an amazing team that brings Life Science into major conversation with customers, creates new strategies and continuously achieves long-term goals.
**What we're looking for
- ** Education**: PhD in scientific & technical related area, such as biology, molecular biology or neuroscience.
- ** Experience**: considerable experience in a complex sales environment, where multiple clients are involved in the purchasing decision.
- A demonstrated track record of sales success, driving growth through a consultative and strategic selling approach.
- Business-to-business sales experience, preference may be given to those with distribution experience and/or work experience in a laboratory or research environment
- ** Languages skills**: Fluent in oral and written English and Italian
- ** IT skills**: MS Office pack, CRM / ERP would be beneficial

You will maintain relationships that builds a competitive advantage and leads to customer satisfaction and be a major technical support by offering continuous sales to customer on products and services from the Avantor portfolio. With your high level of technical competence, you will experience great success on the product and sales cycle and create and massive impact in helping to solve the world's most complex challenges. Robotic platform and Biopharma products knowledge are considered a plus.
**Relationship Development**: Increase competitive advantage and drive customer satisfaction by building trust and developing strong partnership relationships.
**Technical Support**:Provide equipment demonstrations and start up support where possible. Able to understand the customer strategy and then bring product knowledge as appropriate.
**Targets**: Meet /Exceed IOP for sales and margin within their discipline and develop awareness / sales in the Avantor Private Label range of products to increase overall profitability.
**Business Development**: Demonstrate strategic agility in approach to customers and varying projects. Call and visits to customers frequently to create opportunities for selling the Avantor portfolio of products.
