Job DescriptionAs a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing pre-commissioning and commissioning of sophisticated integrated control and security systems for the Oil & Gas industry.
Working with the Project Manager and Service Manager, you will receive assignments in the form of objectives and execute activities to meet established goals.
The role is based at our site in Milan, with the requirement to work at the client's site roughly one week per month (This can include industrial onshore and offshore plants, ships, etc.
).
Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Project and Service Managers to plan and schedule site activities. Program, debug and modify PLC software (ControlLogix, AAdvance and Trusted) using the most common programming languages (Ladder, Function Block, Structure text, etc.
). Configure, debug and modify HMI software (FactoryTalkView). Handle industrial networks/switches configuration, debugging, and modification (DLR, REP, PRP, etc.
). Perform the loop check, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Read and understand wiring diagrams, making small changes to the wiring of the control cabinets. Prepare comprehensive site reports and timesheets. The IndividualMaster's degree in engineering discipline (i. e. , Industrial/Process automation, Informatics, Electronics) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Mandatory knowledge in computer science and electrical/electronic disciplines, ideally applied in the automation industry. Essential proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder, Function Block, Structure Text). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure. Experience with direct customer contact on a technical basis is required. Willingness to travel and work at customer sites when required (On average, one week per month). Fluency in Italian and intermediate proficiency in English.
