Partner with the best As a Field Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and executing performance tests and vibration analysis, acquiring data on the field at customer sites on installed units to verify equipment performance and/or execute troubleshooting activities.
Target equipment for testing operations will include gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal and axial compressors, turbo-expanders, gearboxes, and generators.
Responsibilities: Ensure the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodologies to carry out the job in the most productive and effective way, identifying and introducing new technologies for data collection and diagnostics. Prepare test instrumentation at the Florence Field Testing Laboratory. Lead site testing activities, responsible for data collection, interfacing with customers and Florence HQ during test execution. Prepare accurate testing reports by performing data analysis and diagnostics, identifying corrective actions if needed, and listing specific recommendations. Collaborate with Product Service and Product Engineering to contribute to RCA and product feedback. Support the development of new testing and data acquisition systems for advanced diagnostics and prognostics, interfacing with other engineering groups. Execute unit validation tests, inspections, and data acquisition for product and service validation, evaluating running parameters and troubleshooting system problems. Act as the entry point for Engineering and Testing teams regarding technical issues, interfacing with all involved functions and suppliers. Support the team in ensuring the reliability of Testing assets and proactively assist all BH customers (internal and external). To be successful in this role, you will need: Master's Degree in Engineering. Good Thermodynamic and/or Rotordynamic knowledge (turbomachinery specific) supported by practical experience (laboratory and/or field). Good knowledge of data acquisition systems and signal processing. Experience in programming with LabView. A passion for technical work, a detail-oriented approach, and strong motivation supported by technical curiosity and a self-starting attitude. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork attitude, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, handling emergency situations and fast-paced work. Fluent in English and Italian. Availability to travel 50% of the time worldwide with short notice.
