Finance Assistant

Who we're looking for We're looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our finance team in Milan. The Finance Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining records, and contributing to the smooth operation of the company's financial processes. This position involves a mix of operational and administrative tasks, with opportunities to assist on broader financial projects.
What your day to day will look like Reporting to the AP/AR Manager, you will work as part of a wider team with these key responsibilities:
Ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Coding sales and purchase invoices correctly, liaising with managers to allocate costs and VAT codes appropriately. Verifying that authorization and sign-off levels comply with company policy before payments are made. Preparing payment runs and updating the cashflow forecast to maintain financial accuracy. Reconciling supplier accounts with internal records and addressing discrepancies. Assisting in the continuous improvement and streamlining of the accounts payable process. Supporting the group finance team with month-end activities and internal reporting requirements. Producing daily treasury updates and emails for senior management. Collaborating on ad-hoc internal projects as required by the group finance team. Requirements: Previous experience in a finance or accounts payable role is desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. What you need to succeed Prior experience in a similar role. Fluent in English and Italian is mandatory. Analytical skills, accuracy, and thorough attention to detail. Able to keep calm under pressure and a diplomatic but firm manner. Experience working within an international fashion business would be advantageous. What we Offer Type of contract: Permanent contract in accordance with the CCNL applied in the company (Terziario-Confcommercio). Salary: to be determined according to the candidate's experience.
