An opportunity has arisen for a commercially and technically minded Finance Manager to be responsible for our Italian and German markets.
This is an exciting and challenging role reporting into the Group Finance Director in London they will play a key role in reporting and giving insights to key accounts and acting as a business partner.
Providing commercial support to the business, the Senior Finance Manager, will play a pivotal role in maximising margins and providing insight.
At TLC Marketing our Local Finance Managers 'double hat' with the HR Function and provide 'People' support.
This involves basic HR functions with coaching, support and guidance from the Group People Director in London.
**What You'll Be Doing**:
- Analyse and interpret campaign performance to provide insights to various department heads
- Year end - Adhere to statutory and compliance requirements.
Being the main representative for the year end audit, and relevant statutory filings
- Managing 2 finance colleagues and ensuring accounting records are maintained and kept up to date - support is provided by the finance assistants, but accruals and other key journal entries will be made by the Senior Finance Manager
- Monthly review of a Balance Sheet accounts, incl.
Debtors, Creditors, Accruals, Prepayments etc
- Partnering with both the client and suppliers to enable smooth delivery and favourable business terms
- Advise on pricing for new campaigns, from review to final sign off stages
- Budgets - ownership, review and construction of annual budgets and quarterly revisions
- Cash Flows - management of local market cashflow and working capital
- Analysing and interpreting mangement accounts and presenting them to the local Board
- Payroll - calculate commission and allowances for payroll
- Playing a key role with the involvement with the company's growth strategy plans and business reviews and adding value
- Managing the finance team and ensuring accounting records are maintained and kept up to date - support is provided by the finance assistants, but accruals and other key journal entries will be made by the Senior Finance Manager
- Being a mentor to the finance assistants
- HR / People - Local responsibility for key HR processes such as: onboarding/offboarding, HR System management, compensation & payroll, employee relations (including absence management, performance management and separation as needed).
**What We're Looking For**:
- Qualified accountant with 5-7 years experience
- Preferably has experience within public practice and/or working in an SME environment within marketing, advertising or PR
- Familiar with manipulating and interpreting data
- Excellent reporting skills and able to clearly present work that is easy to interpret and accurate
- Good verbal communication skills and can build effective working relationships with colleagues
- Adaptability - can deal with unplanned changes to tasks and workloads and successfully handle several tasks at any one time
- Make decisions in the commercial interests of the business.
Remains aware of any new and emerging practices and looks to make improvements to processes and reporting to improve effectiveness
- Highly skilled in Excel
- Sound technical knowledge
- Good understanding of local labour laws in Germany (preferable) and Italy (essential) and instincts on people related matters
