We are looking for a Finance Manager who will be based in our Milan office and will be in charge of Finance Operations for Italy, reporting directly to the CFO.

The Finance Manager has oversight and responsibility for the finance function and initiatives in Italy including:

• Financial and Statutory Accounting

• Analysis and Reporting

• Budgeting

• Coordination of the Billing and Accounting Team

• Actively promotes the finance coordination and integration between Finance and other Business Services functions and implements and maintains best working practices across the office

• Responsibility for operation and continuous improvement of the financial control environment of the office.

Responsibilities Manage the Accounts Payable & Expense, Treasury and Financial Accounting functionsReview and reconcile all balance sheet and P&L accounts on a monthly basis (cash vs. accrual)Work closely with the CFO to ensure local regulatory requirements are metManage auditors including planning meetings, supervision of field work, sign-off reviews, etc. Assist with detailed review of Milan expenses against budgetResponsible for local treasury management including payment runsResponsible for the monthly invoicing and cash collections of the Italian officeImprove current billing and collections forecasting to assess the pipeline of future billing and collections for the officeWork closely with the CFO to ensure that partners are met on a regular basis and that WIP and AR are managed effectivelyEnsure effective collaboration with the CFO and the European Finance team to provide timely and accurate management information to assess matter performance both in terms of collections and profitabilityBe the point of contact for the transition to 3EOther appropriate duties as required by the businessRequirements University degree in Economics or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a law firmExcellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practicesFluent in Italian and English (C1 level)Computer literate with strong Excel skillsExperience with 3E requiredExcellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization;Ability to handle complex situations and find solutionsProven ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and deliver resultsMust be self-motivated, highly organized, accurate, detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervisionFlexible and enthusiastic with the ability to manage own workload and priorities to meet deadlinesAbout us
