**Novacapital** is the investment company of the Merloni Holding.
It has a diversified portfolio of investments ranging in different industries at different investment stages (from seed to growth capital) and with various levels of participation (from financial minority to full control).
The company is reaching a level of investment and a speed of growth that requires an enhanced follow-up of its growing portfolio.
We are looking for a **Financial Controller **with a specific expertise in managing risk of Investment Portfolio, who will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for the following activities:
**Controlling**:
- business and financial planning, preparation of economic budget, semi-annual forecasting and monthly monitoring/reporting
- performing variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and presenting commentary to top line of business, explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets
- cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- analysis and track keeping of performance, milestones and results of investments
- maintenance and improvement of the reporting systems
- helping design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management
**Risk Management**:
- setting-up and developing internal risk processes and developing quantitative tools, including
- data exploration, prototype and development of risk reporting tools and efficient risk dashboard
- liquidity risk and portfolio capacity estimation
- analysis of risk factor exposures and factor-based attribution
- stress testing and sensitivity analysis
- continually maintain and improve in-house tools to monitor risk and produce timely risk analysis and reports
- provide independent analysis and management of portfolios risks including analysis, exposures, performance, and key market drivers
- develop a deep understanding of the funds under your supervision, their investment processes and the risks imposed by their specific portfolio exposures.
- Master's Degree in a quantitative or scientific field such as quantitative finance, statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, or physics.
- 3/4 years of experience with quantitative methods used to evaluate risk, implementing or working with systems for equities, ideally based on fundamental factor models
- Risk management in an asset management environment, including strong knowledge of international portfolio risks
- Programming skills to process data and perform computations efficiently, with experience using common programming languages and statistical packages
- Detailed understanding of equities risk management and portfolio construction
- Data analysis skills and eye for details
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
**The following constitute a plus**:
- Experience using industry standard risk and performance attribution models such as Bloomberg's GRM/TRM or PORT, Aladdin, Yield Book or similar
- Programming skills in Python, Matlab or similar.
- Experience using Bloomberg's GRM/TRM or PORT models for fixed income analysis, risk management, scenario analysis, and multifactor performance attribution
