Within our Mechanical Department in the Italy office, we are looking for a FIREFIGHTING DESIGN ENGINEER, who will be technically responsible for the development of Firefighting designs with the right commitment on time, productivity, and quality in accordance with specific design criteria and client requirements.
They will be a part of motivated project teams with technical competence, interpersonal sensitivity and conflict management skills.
Key duties of the role include: Development of concept, basic and detailed designs with written technical reports/specifications detailing firefighting systems, design basis, project implications, and other technical documentations to complete project works (layouts, schematics, calculations, cost estimate);Overview and coordination of 3D firefighting systems models;Manage/Attend to Client and Stakeholder regular coordination meetings;Coordination of local and international consultants;Perform Supplier's and contractor's follow-up activities;Provide support to the construction activities, when required;Ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices. Here's what you'll need: Master's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering;Technical background with a minimum 5-6 years of experience in Firefighting design;Knowledge of standards and legislation of firefighting systems (UNI EN, NFPA, FM Global Data Sheets, SES);Expertise on firefighting engineering principles in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in code analyses, coordination with insurance companies/clients and support on consultancy or clarification with authorities having jurisdiction;Experience in setting, development, evaluation, and implementation of projects regarding sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire hoses, fire pumps, gas suppression, foam systems and other special fire protection systems for the industrial and civil applications;Availability to national and international travels;Capability of working autonomously and as part of a larger team;Good communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;Fluency in English and Italian. Following capabilities will be considered a valuable plus: Revit MEP basic knowledge and specialized collaborative platforms (BIM360, ACC, Naviswork, Revizto);Experience in Pharmaceuticals and Data Centers projects;Technical specialization in firefighting systems for civil plants (ex.
