Reporting to the Lead Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing fiscal firmware and some associated components both of high quality, maximising Epson's fiscal printer sales performance in Italy. What you will do: Develop an understanding of Italian tax authority's requirements and maintain fiscal firmware so that it adheres to them. Develop specific fiscal firmware according to software development processes. This includes coding, technical analysis, feasibility analysis, and testing. Develop firmware for ARM-based electronic boards/microcontrollers. Scope fiscal firmware requirements and desired outcomes; working with the fiscal team to deliver the required solution taking into consideration software houses retail software requirements and backward compatibility, whilst maintaining a high level of communication across functional groups and managing milestones. Engage in active communication with fiscal printer certifiers. Gain an understanding of new products and software/drivers that interface with the fiscal firmware and some associated components. Participate in any technical discussions. Provide support during technical escalations. Participate in weekly team meetings. What we ask for: Technical product experience gained in a similar industry. Numerical, analytical, and logical approach to problem solving. Good knowledge of English, both written and aural. Self-motivated. Keen to learn complex arguments. Technical Skills: Knowledge of programming languages like C/C++, shell scripting, PHP, and Python. Experience working with a variety of IDEs such as Eclipse and libraries such as OpenSSL. Experience in versioning systems such as GIT. Ideally, experience in the development of ARM-based electronic boards or microcontrollers. Ideally, knowledge of authentication such as HMAC. Knowledge in HTML and XML. Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS. Knowledge of Networking. Very good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, POSIX, and toolchain GNU. Very good knowledge of command line tools. Good knowledge of Windows Operating Systems. Firmware and some hardware testing. Troubleshooting and diagnostics.
