Fitness Specialist (Cys) Nf-03
Duties**:
- Within an existing curriculum, develops and implements lesson plans and appropriate environments that incorporate a broad range of fitness and health activities for early childhood, school age, and youth program participants.
- Assists in training coaches using the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) guidelines.
Provides assistance in planning practices to warm up/cool down techniques, injury prevention, proper use of materials and equipment.
- Shares expertise in the operation of age-appropriate exercises and skills development for children and youth.
- Helps inspect facilities/programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards and makes recommendations for improvements.
Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities as appropriate.
- Responsible for the delivery of a wide range of installation youth fitness, health, and outreach programs in multiple CYS settings.
Develops and maintains and partnerships with schools and community organizations.

- Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
- Must obtain/maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain (within 6 months of employment) a fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, physical education, or other fitness-related disciplines**OR all **of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:

Experience or education demonstrating the knowledge of basic health and nutrition concepts. - **Qualifying experience must be clearly described in resume.
