Fitness Specialist (Cys) Nf-03
Duties**:
- Responsible for the delivery of a wide range of installation youth fitness, health, and outreach programs in multiple CYS settings.
Develops and maintains and partnerships with schools and community organizations.
- Within an existing curriculum, develops and implements lesson plans and appropriate environments that incorporate a broad range of fitness and health activities for early childhood, school age, and youth program participants.
- Assists in training coaches using the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) guidelines.
Provides assistance in planning practices to warm up/cool down techniques, injury prevention, proper use of materials and equipment.
- Shares expertise in the operation of age-appropriate exercises and skills development for children and youth.
- Helps inspect facilities/programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards and makes recommendations for improvements.
Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities as appropriate.

- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
- A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
- Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
- Must obtain/maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
- Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain (within six months of employment) a fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

**Qualifications**:
A bachelor's degree or higher in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, physical education, or other fitness-related disciplines OR all of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:
comprehensive group fitness program.

Experience or education demonstrating the knowledge of basic health and nutrition concepts.

**PCS Costs
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) may be authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
**Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differential**s
- This is a pay-banded position.
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
**_If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. _** When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).

- Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
