Flag State Compliance Engineer, Genoa
RINA is currently recruiting for a Flag State Compliance Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Marine Compliance, Classification & Statutory Certification Division. Mission The Engineer in Classification and Certification plays a critical role in the development, maintenance, and compliance of internal rules and manuals governing the classification and certification processes for maritime and offshore assets. The role involves collaboration with subject matter experts, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing technical issues, supporting marine operations, and driving continuous improvement. Key Accountabilities Rules Maintenance and Revision: - Collaborate with subject matter experts in Excellence Centres to develop and update internal rules, manuals, and technical publications. - Ensure that rules align with international standards and regulations, incorporating industry advancements and best practices. - Regularly review and enhance existing rules, staying updated with international regulations and industry standards. - Engage with technical committees and subject matter experts to gather insights for rule development. Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure internal procedure, instruction and forms comply with international maritime regulations, classification standards, and industry guidelines. - Monitor changes in regulations and standards, implementing necessary updates to organizational documents. Flag State Authorities Collaboration: - Establish and maintain effective relationships with flag state authorities. - Participate in negotiations with flag state authorities to facilitate smooth certification processes. Technical Issue Management: - Manage complex procedural and technical issues related to classification and certification. - Provide expertise and guidance to resolve challenges during the certification process. Support for Marine Operations OUs: - Assist Marine Operations Organizational Units (OUs) in their interactions with flag states. - Address technical queries and challenges faced by OUs during the certification process. Continuous Improvement: - Proactively identify areas for improvement in classification and certification processes. - Implement enhancements to standards and guidelines to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Education Master's Degree in Naval Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Other Requirements Fluent in Italian & English Languages.
