Fm Lead – Italy
ABOUT THE ROLEThe FM Lead is leading a Data Center facility managers team in Italy. They are directly accountable for delivery of safe, secure, and available operations of all data centers in their span of control.
The FM Lead reports to the Data Center Infrastructure Lead. They liaise locally with other critical roles in Data Center Operations such as Critical Environment Managers, Energy Manager, Operations Contract Manager or Operations Quality Manager to achieve their operational objectives and contribute to country strategic goals. They ensure that the FM Team is following all internal Processes and Systems. They engage on a regular basis with the Customer Success team to ensure operational requests and objectives are met.
The FM Lead is responsible for growing Facility Managers into leaders showing entrepreneurship, responsibility, and adaptability. They identify competences and resources available and provide direction and expertise to the FM and all individual contributors within their scope by promoting Data4 strategy and best business practices. They ensure succession planning, early talent detection, individual performance reviews and individual yearly business objectives. They take calculated risks and provide support to other countries in Data4 Operations when needed.
The FM Lead provides weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the Data Center Infrastructure Lead and to the Head of Data Center Operations. They participate in mandatory ISO9001, 27001 and 5001, PCI-DS and ISAE-3402 audits. They manage gaps and propose mitigation and remediation plans to any non-compliance identified.
The FM Lead participates in technical meetings with customers and suppliers. They are accountable for ensuring knowledge is shared among the teams they lead, and that all critical experience feedback is included in any planned or corrective activity they are responsible for. They ensure that any critical alarm is properly addressed with a mitigation and a remediation plan rolled out within Service Level Agreements, and an in-depth root cause analysis that can be shared internally or externally via Event Retrospective Reports.
The FM Lead makes sure that all critical tier 1 and tier 2 activity is under their FM's supervision, supervising the activity of the different suppliers: Planning maintenance, preparing corrective works (review and validation of changes and MOPs when required, attending dry runs, BMS follow up of the installation to ensure a good performance).
The FM Lead is also accountable for getting their team to the required operational standards through training and incident drills. They evaluate the ability of their teams to deliver at bar daily and propose improvements in operating mechanisms. As team managers they establish their team member's individual objectives and assess individual performance as per Data4 HR policies.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESHires and inducts the right team of Facility Managers. Develops people, owns training programs, manages performance, and ensures succession planning. Defines performance targets and implements improvement plans with the Data Center Infrastructure Lead, France to address performance issues. Issues periodic operational performance reports, and ensures operational standards align with the business and industry best practices. Drives continuous improvement and lessons learned, manages risks within own scope. Works with other teams to constantly improve the level of service rendered internally and to our customers. Assists with special queries such as on the field support for projects (Construction, Service Delivery, Energy management, quality and compliance). REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience5+ year experience in a similar position or in mission-critical operation, with background in incident management and resolution. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Energy Engineering or equivalent experience. Fluent English (B2/C1). Technical Skills (Required and Preferred)RequiredBroad technical knowledge related to Data Centers infrastructure management. Good knowledge of change management and facility management. Experience with incident management, incident resolution and learning from errors. Agile with IT tools – knowledge of ticketing tools such as JIRA, Proxima or Remedy. KPI and metrics management and analysis. PreferredExperience in people management. Soft SkillsEffective communication – emails, phone and face to face. Strong work ethics and trustworthiness, capability of building a trusting relationship with peers and senior leadership. Strategic thinking and ability to build a multiple year vision. Capability of conveying strategic ideas through written documents.
