About the role At Four Seasons Firenze we are looking for a passionate Food & Beverage Supervisor - Banqueting to supervise the day-to-day operations for the department in absence of the Banqueting Management team. This position assists in ensuring consistent and thoughtful service and all staff adhere to Four Seasons standards.
What you will do In absence of the Banqueting management team coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order, communicate directly with group contacts, Catering and Sales Departments to ensure that all details of the function are carried out.
Respond proactively to guest queries and to ensure appropriate action is taken in the absence of the Banqueting Management team, followed by effective communication.
Support the Banqueting Management team in training, leading, motivating and coaching all Banquet employees in ensuring that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for department operation.
Attend regular operational meetings to guarantee effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive dining experience.
Ensure that guest satisfaction is monitored and where appropriate, rectified throughout their meal experience.
Respond proactively to guest queries and to ensure appropriate action is taken in the absence of Management, followed by effective communication.
Plan daily activities for events operations in the absence of Management.
In absence of the Banqueting Management team work closely with the F&B Manager, Executive Chef and Director of Catering to design an effective menu and wine list to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair. Support the Management in observing physical condition and cleanliness of event rooms, making recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
Work alongside, and when requested, deputize for the Banqueting management team when off duty.
Assist with the service of food to guests, cleaning of operational areas and other tasks assigned by Management team if needed.
What you bring Education: High school education or relevant experience.
Experience: Must have a minimum of one year food service experience in a similar role in a luxury environment and previous experience in service.
Skills and Abilities: Must possess organizational and people skills, as well as and a drive to deliver an exceptional level of service.
Problem solving and a capacity to work under pressure are expected for this position.
Must possess an extensive level of wine and food knowledge.
Proficiency in using the Micros Operating System.
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language.
This position requires the ability to lift equipment, carry and balance trays.
