All about the role: You will enjoy a global team on the first line in the definition of the Taste Consumer Experience on the way to make sustainable eating the preferred choice. As a food technologist, you will ensure testing of key performance functionality and compliance with technical standards. Reporting to the Cooking Science Laboratory Manager, you will translate input of consumer needs into technical solutions and provide performance improvements and proposals.
What you'll do: Translate consumer needs into project specifications. Develop new cooking features and/or service functionalities. Collaborate in the creation of test plans. Execute tests. Release test reports, documentation, and presentation of results to relevant stakeholders. Define relevant specifications and ensure testing on:Company targets on Taste and Sustainability. National and international use-cases according to internal/external standards and project scope. International standards, consumer association standards, and internal test manuals. Feature performance (e. g. , steam generator duty cycle, microwave evenness distribution). Ensure alignment on test methodologies with other laboratories and relevant test institutes. Develop new test and evaluation methodologies. Support other R&D departments in relevant testing (e. g. , product lifetime, cost & quality activities, benchmark activities). Provide improvement proposals in the Way of Working. Ensure compliance with work environment and safety regulations. Support internal and external events (cooking demos or consumer events). Create links from global test methodologies to local Taste definitions. Approach development and working methods in a sustainable way. Collaborate with business partners such as universities, external laboratories, Taste experts, and chefs. Who you are: Bachelor in Food Science/Technology or Chemical Engineering. Deep knowledge of Food safety and quality standards. Expertise in food transformation processes, particularly cooking techniques. Proficiency in testing methodologies (DOE, statistical analysis). Practical experience in food preparation and cooking. Strong understanding of food testing and evaluation principles. Experience in the food or appliance industry. Open-minded and adaptable to working in a global environment. Ability to work in a matrix organization including remote interaction. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Culinary experience as a chef or in a restaurant. Knowledge of electrical laboratory equipment and testing. Technical report writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Fluent in English, both written and spoken. German, Italian, Portuguese, or Chinese languages are a plus. Where you'll be: This is a full-time position, based at our Electrolux site in Forlì (FC).
