Forwarding Operator
The Forwarding Operator is responsible for executing all kind of transports, organizing goods shipments from a point of origin to a destination, while ensuring the respect of agreed delivery date and price.
- Previous working experience in the role in international transportation, logistics and supply chain industries, minimum 3 years;
- Good knowledge of local-/international carries and shipment organization;
- Fluent English.
Any additional language is an advantage;
- MS Office literate, knowledge of logistics software and platform is an advantage;
- Degree in Economics Logistics and Maritime field and-/or specific forwarding training;
- Ability to cope well with pressure and work to deadlines;
- Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and follow-up.
- Organizes the shipment of goods (e. g.
packing, containers import and export management, intermodal transposts, truck transpost - including special transpost conditions such as perishable or dangerous goods);
- Arranges goods loading-/unloading, return to the vendor or for repair;
- Manages transportation documents, customs clearance procedures and insurance paperwork liasing with freight forwarders for customs formalities;
- Monitors the goods real-time shipment status and updates ships and departments involved;
- Checks that shipments are collected and delivered in accordance with the contract and applicable country regulations, while resolving any issues;
- Negotiates terms of carriage with carriers when logistics services are not available from contracted suppliers and manages special requests;
- Delivers superior operational efficiency;
- Deals with health-/veterinary authorities and CITES for products certification delivered to ships via CTX;
- Proactively works with the departments involved providing them with logistics and customs support.
