Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Job Summary: The responsibility of the administrative assistant is to provide outstanding quality customer service to patients, families, referring providers, departmental physicians and staff, and other customers of the office. Perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties. Schedule new patient/new consult appointments and request medical records. Register new patients; obtain signatures and face photos and upload into computer; print and file demographic information; input diagnosis codes into EMR. Schedule follow-up appointments; pull follow-up charts; update medical records for follow-up charts; obtain insurance authorizations as needed; verify and update demographic, insurance, and HIPAA information as needed. Schedule CT/MRI/PET scan appointments and obtain insurance authorizations as needed. Maintain physicians' time off schedules; block out time/update computer; notify and reschedule patients as needed. Contact patients to cancel/change appointments due to weather or machine problems. Arrange transportation for patients as needed. Coordinate scheduling with other departmental offices as needed. Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent and two years of directly related medical secretary/office experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
Experience with the Epic EHR System preferred.
Work Days: Monday - Friday 8:00 a. m. - 4:30 p. m.
