Job Description Summary**: At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

The job position refers to the Advanced Systems Design.

In this role you will perform concept studies and design of next gen mechanical transmissions systems, including integration in next generation engine architectures.

Working as part of an integrated global team, in this role you will also support the definition and execution of the GBX technology maturation phase through the design of technology demos test articles and related systems for a range of subscale and full scale rigs, effecting GPB technology roadmap and technology readiness needs.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Conduct technical feasibility studies and concept design of GBX modules for next engine architectures

- Define gearbox architecture making explicit the Design Intent, assuring the achievement of cost, weight and performance targets

- Flow down system requirements to components definition (including definition of Mechanical/Functional Interfaces, stack ups and assembly checks)

- Execute design activities such as system/product definition.

Define technical specifications and manage relevant work packages.

- Execute detailed design of mechanical transmissions systems for test vehicles and technology maturation purpose

- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated across the technology demonstration phases consistency with engineering policies and procedures

- Support technical and program reviews

**Qualifications/Requirements

- Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university

- Experience in Mechanical Design of Transmission Systems and engine integration

- Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions, technologies

- Clear thinking and diligent approach

- English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required**.

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience

- Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions, technologies

- Knowledge of CAD design tools (preferable NX & Teamcenter)

- New Product Introduction process experience

- Basis FEM tools knowledge

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Curiosity and passion for mechanic design

- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

- Passionate, curious and enthusiastic for engineering challenges

- System mindset and problem solver
