Gardener responsibilities include maintain the health of green areas and the plants that form them, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing plants and mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. Principal Dutiespruning and clipping of boschetti and hedges of various dimensions;cutting of both fine turf and wildflower meadows;sweeping of leaves etc.

Machine operation Qualifications Required Education: Required Certification/Other QualificationsPossession of, or willingness to acquire certification to spray pesticides and to drive a tractor, Possession of, or willingness to acquire certification as a First Aider. Languages: Italian - EnglishPreferred Education:Diploma from an Istituto AgrarioPreferred Certification/Other Qualifications:Certification to operate a cherry pickerCertification to testify attendance of a course in the safe use of a chainsawAny certification attesting capabilities as a tree climber or ability to fell or prune treesRequired Experience: Three years of practical, hands-on, gardening experience as a gardener. Preferred Experience: Three years of practical, hands-on, gardening experience in a listed Italian historic garden. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAn ability to speak English An ability to use basic computer programs. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Know how to operate a simple lawn-mower, cut hedges with a mechanical trimmer, hoe, dig and use a simple range of gardening hand tools.

Be able to identify a basic range of plants, including weeds.

Have the ability to apply the correct does of pesticides and fertilizers in compliance with applicable legislation and to correctly water plants in both pots and open ground.
