The role of GEMS is to ensure competitive energy for customers while optimizing value creation, within a consistent risk framework.
The GEMS teams negotiate ENGIE natural gas supply contracts, optimize the assets (power plants) and the energy purchase and sales contracts, and provide customers with natural gas and electricity, as well as energy price risk management services.
GEMS manages, over all time horizons, one of the largest and most diversified energy portfolios in Europe, including electricity, natural gas, coal, oil products, biomass, CO2 and environmental products, particularly through its trading activities and presence in Europe's key energy marketplaces. We are looking for a Gas Operation & Logisitcs Officer for our GEMS Italian Office. Mission:The applicant will be part of G. O. O. L Team (Gas Operation, Optimization and Logistics), which is part of of Assets Optimization and Trading (AOT, one of the Business Entities of GEMS Italy).
Its role is to ensure the gas operational activities (nomination on pipelines-HUB-market, TSO-SSO contracts management) and to manage and optimize the gas portfolio. The Gas Operation & Logistics Officer is in charge of the following missions:- Scheduling : _- performing nominations on Italian virtual hub (PSV), on National and foreign network, National storage system and of supply contracts. - booking and allocations of capacities in order to ensure the supply of all our clients B2B, B2C, Giants, Resellers, CCGTs. - having operational contacts with institutional players (TSO, SSO and LSO) and counterparties. - monitoring of gas portfolio imbalance;- Contracts Management and Portfolio Support_:- ensuring daily access and participation to gas spot exchanges markets for the different entities within the group (ENGIE Italy, ENGIE SA, ENGIE Global Markets). - supporting the team for the management of transport contract and storage (auctions and secondary capacity market; storage auction). - take care of settlement management of our final client's as well as dealing with logistic costs across the chain. - contribute to continuous improvement of internal activities in particular participating to the digitalization's of processes in relation with internal and external stakeholders (exchanges, TSO's, ). - support the team on setting up and manage complex deal in terms of structuring and representation on the closing phase and during life time of the dealsDirect Reports**:Gas Operation ManagerQualifications required:- Fluent English and Italian language, spoken and written.
Willingness to learn. - Expert on Excel and possibly VBA. - Strong numerical skills is a must. - Degree in Economics or Engineering. - Flexible, problem solving attitude and result - oriented approach.
Willingness to work on shift (also Saturday and Sunday) is a must. - Multitasking approach and propension to meet tight deadlines as well as handle unplanned (operational in this case) emergencies. - Eager on learning new things spending time reading and studying as well as learning by doing.
