General Manager, Italy
What you will do As General Manager, Italy, the primary responsibility for this role is to be in charge of the business performance at country level, achieve profitability objectives and deliver plans while sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction and growing the business in line with the Regional Business strategies. This role is multifaceted, requiring a blend of strategic planning, leadership, and operational management to ensure the company's goals are aligned with local market conditions. How you will do it: Serve as an active member of the European leadership team, providing area-specific performance information in an accurate and timely manner and supporting other leaders to share resources and approaches as needed to maximize revenues and profitability. Grow the business by setting and managing an overall country sales strategy. Build a climate of Sales Excellence, characterized by a highly professional sales force across the branches, capable of building a high-quality sales pipeline and accurate forecasting, and working together on cross-selling opportunities. Oversee country financial management following the policies and standards of Gunnebo and with stewardship that creates long-term viability for the country. Drive implementation of the country strategic direction within the dedicated geographical area, focusing on developing after-sales strategy and building service organization, including driving inorganic growth actions (M&A experience desirable). Translate strategic priorities into results and drive operational discipline across the organization; align communication with in-country leadership team to deliver commitments. Drive and build a high-performance culture across the functional leadership team, leading with a One-team mindset. Manage country assets across the branches (people, financial, material) in a manner that meets or exceeds profitability goals. Ensure the implementation and execution of all key business processes and tools and manage cross-business area efficiency improvements. Under general direction, lead, develop, and coach the country operational, sales, and functional management team to deliver the business plan (orders, revenue, executed margin, EBIT & trade working capital). Develop and ensure high-performing local leadership. Maximize performance through quality staffing, performance management, coaching, development, and succession planning of managers. Build key relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and maintain key account relationships. Establish collaborative relationships across the countries in Europe and the wider regional Gunnebo business to maximize financial performance, provide quality customer service, and take advantage of successful practices used by high-performing organizations. Act as a legal manager of the country business entities, as well as country representative towards employee representative bodies. Represent the company and its values in its relationship with major customers, suppliers, commercial and investment groups, professional bodies, and authorities. Perform any other duties as arranged by the supervisor. What we look for: University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrable experience of working within a manufacturing background. 10 years of experience, with prior experience in growing market share, maximizing revenue, and profitability. Proven background in providing significant contributions for defining the local strategic direction based on the overall business strategy. Experience in building after-sales and service growth strategies, including inorganic growth (M&A experience desirable). Ability to lead the daily operations of a country as defined by the size of P&L responsibility. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Able to build a strong management team, create a culture of accountability in which people take ownership of results, and work closely with direct reports on objective setting and professional development.
