The UKI and Europe Strategic Programmes and Data Insights (SPDI) team is part of Geographic Services and is responsible for delivering change programmes which will either stem from specific sponsorship responsibilities assigned to the UKI and Europe GS Lead, from insights generated by value-add data analysis performed by the SPDI team or from business improvements, policy compliance or broader business risks.
**Role Description**:
The **GS Europe Data Insights Specialist** role provides the opportunity to work as part of a growing team leading business reporting and data driven change programmes across Europe.
Reporting to a Europe Data Insights Associate Manager, the role is focused on delivery and evolution of data analytics and key business reporting to drive cost efficiencies, process improvements, policy compliance and address business risks.
The Specialist will analyse business data (alongside qualitative policy, legal, best practice or tax information) in the context of current business priorities and strategic change programmes, looking for anomalies and other points of interest that would suggest an opportunity exists to make improvements.
Critically though this role isn't just about crunching data, it is about using the data to enable meaningful business discussions that ultimately drive change linked to strategic priorities.
The work is typically intellectually very challenging and best suits somebody who thrives on dealing with complex business problems and has the ability to use data insights to make recommendations on the strategic changes that should be made to address any identified issues.
Responsibilities will be split between the delivery of regular monthly and quarterly BAU reporting and ad-hoc data analysis required across other projects and strategic initiatives within the broader Europe Strategic Programmes and Data Insights team:
- Deliver regular business reporting and actionable business insights using range of analytics and data visualisation tools and techniques, including PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
- Act as a data SME for the Insights team and provide advice on the availability, structure, limitations etc.

- Support mining, aggregation and cleansing of large volumes of data from multiple sources
- Customise and build new reports according to changing business requirements by understanding (and modifying where necessary) PowerBI and using advanced functions and pivot tables etc.

- Produce ad-hoc data analysis required to support other projects and strategic initiatives within the broader GS UKI and Europe Strategic Programmes and Data Insights Team
- Support Manager and Associate Manager in engagement with business stakeholders by joining and supporting coordination of meetings and workshops as relevant
**We are looking for experience in the following skills**:
- ** Proven experience leading business reporting, data analytics, or other similar activities** - with demonstrable:
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced functions etc.
)
- Strong experience using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
- Experience using PowerPoint and building Data Insights packs for stakeholders
- Ability to analyse and provide SME advice on availability, structure, limitations etc.

- An eagerness to learn and develop strategic thinking and project management skills alongside technical skills
- ** Excellent business and commercial acumen**, including good understanding of financial and business model structures and the ability to act as bridge between business requirements and report and insight delivery
- ** Strong communication skills** - confidence presenting and communicating with multiple stakeholders across various areas of the business
- ** Excellent organisation skills** and an ability to work in a fast paced and agile environment, juggling multiple workstreams and priorities
