Global Category Manager Marketing Services
JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Global Marketing Category team is responsible for the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy, monitoring and leading sourcing and coordinating purchasing activities at a global level, including the management of global suppliers.
This team reports into the CPO of Indirect Procurement.
As part of this team, your role is to implement the strategy for marketing services spend, aligned with the needs of the stakeholders and the business.
The marketing services categories include On-and Offline Media, Creative services, Creative asset production, PR, Digital marketing services for brands and e-Commerce, Transcreation and Market Research (total ~150 - 200M€ spend).
Your success will be primarily measured on Savings/Cost Management, Stakeholder management, Strategic Project Management/Execution, Payment Terms & Working Capital, Implementation of company policy, E-sourcing & Innovation.
As the Global Category Manager you will focus on continuous process and/or system improvements while providing exceptional customer service and cost savings.
Your success depends on strong collaboration skills, the ability to work together with regional procurement managers on corporate initiatives, providing guidance and direction the expected services.
Your serve as a leader in the company's efforts to maintain an effective system of internal controls.
You have interest in marketing and you like to follow the trends and developments in the field.
In your role you actively pursue and share knowledge at the service of the category strategy and the stakeholders.
You are a strong logic thinker, using information to accurately make timely decisions, contributing to the decision-making process by logically presenting ideas to decision makers.
**AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES**:
- Contribute to strategy development, including strategy coordination for related categories
- Work with the stakeholders to segment and identify spend areas to strategically source and organize buying processes with the goal of identifying cost savings
- Issue RFx and analyse best solutions, negotiate price and commercial terms and conditions.
Implement sourcing projects and be accountable for results
- Develop and document sourcing best practices through the creation of knowledge documents
- Quickly acquire knowledge in categories where there is limited internal knowledge
- Demand management and implementation of demand management programmes, policy creation/management, development of guidelines
- Internal communications of category initiatives and reporting of results
- Contract negotiation and implementation, accompanying roll-out of new suppliers
- Supplier Management and continuous evaluation/assessment of supplier performance, ensuring consistency of service, quality and compliance
- Benchmarking of internal and external costs against industry and competitive standards
- Lead projects and work cross functionally with regional/global teams
- Support internal purchasing process
- Ability to interface with all levels of management in all regions, and all accountable Group functions (e. g.
Legal, Tax, Procure To Pay, Accounts Payable )
- Influence and drive internal stakeholders business decisions contributing with procurement capabilities, knowledge of best practices, and analysis
**TECHNICAL SKILLS - PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE**:
- Bachelor's Degree required, in Economics/Engineering preferred
- 5+ years experience in marketing procurement and prior experience in marketing related functions would be a plus
- Experience in an international organisation, preferably in industries such as cosmetics and FMCG or retail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, flexible with ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong autonomy
- Experience in project leading, tender organization and cost saving projects management
- Knowledge of: General Purchasing principals and procedures, Procurement and Sourcing processes, Marketing, advertising and digital marketing, Organizations, Accounting & Finance
- Skills In: Negotiation, Leadership, Effective communication written and oral
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management
- Analytics (tender management, cost analysis, scenario modelling)
- Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in Italian and English, French as a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally if requested
