**POSITION SCOPE
The Global Director EHS has full accountability for ensuring the company's strict compliance with EHS regulations and standards across all the geographic locations where UMG operates.
The Director is responsible for leading and shaping our global EHS strategy with the goal of driving continuous improvement and embedding a culture of Safety First with the focus on Zero Harm to our employees, community, and environment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and administer EHS policies, procedures, and program across the organization to ensure on-going effectiveness and global compliance.
- Develop and monitor meaningful indicators of safety and health risk/performance, evaluate trend data, and report provide written reports and updated EHS results to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
- Responsible for the Global Environmental initiatives including the environmental portion of the annual ESG report.
- Oversee the delivery of EHS training for employees identifying appropriate and relevant content.
- Work together with business unit managers to implement safety and health initiatives including safe working practices and procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, etc.

- Manage and advise on the EHS budget and spend, coordinate with departments and business units as appropriate.
- Identify and implement appropriate environmental sustainability programs.
- Ensures a high focus on critical risk areas and safe work priorities, environmental impacts, sustainability, management alignment and direction, employee engagement and the ongoing enhancement of a zero-harm culture
- Manages standardized systems that maximize efficiency and improve performance outcomes (i. e.
ISO (International Standards Organization, OHSAS (Occupational health & safety assessment series), Airsweb/AVA (Active Vulnerability Analysis, SENTIS - provides safety culture models).
- In conjunction with Business Unit leaders, manager the EHS function and development of personnel to ensure the UMG standard for Zero Harm is followed.
**SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Highly motivated, energetic, self-directed individual with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
Must have a practical approach to problem solving with the ability to deliver clear, strategic advice to clients in a timely manner.
- Possess strong guidance skills and ability to communicate with clarity and passion to influence decisions through mutual respect while driving a best-in-class EHS program
- Ability to manage and develop the EHS team across multiple geographies and time zones in partnership with Business Unit leads
- Must be an effective communicator with a high level of verbal and written communications skills.
Able to provide detailed training materials and concise executive summaries as well as deliver training and presentations to internal and external stakeholders; and ability to work together and influence key stakeholders
- Proven track record of performance and demonstrated achievements in reducing risk.
