For a multinational pharmaceutical company, we are looking for the:

GLOBAL ENGINEERING DIRECTOR Main responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Global Technical Operations, he/she is responsible for leading the Engineering team towards the successful design, construction, and commissioning of plant equipment and facilities, as well as developing and managing effective engineering practices to support project implementation in production sites.

The role is in charge of developing technology and leading the implementation of strategic projects and processes that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Technical Operations, participating as a Senior Staff member in developing industrial footprint/site strategies and policies.

Direction and leadership to the Engineering groups are crucial in the execution of all Engineering related activities carried out on-site, including but not limited to automation, capital projects, critical utilities, equipment commissioning and validation.

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for management and development of the Engineering staff:

Global API and Sterile Engineering, Automation, Process & Technology.

Manage the active development of personnel to assure constant improvement in departmental skills and capabilities as well as assure a robust succession plan.

Mentor and coach of site Engineering team members, facilitating and assisting in their development and growth.

Responsible for the management of external Engineering Partners and other firms as part of the execution of the strategic projects implemented in all sites.

Lead and support activities and interact with critical Functions necessary to ensure successful completion of Engineering projects within set timelines and budgetary constraints:

Procurement, Legal, Finance, etc.

Develop and manage effective engineering practices to support project implementation in API/Sterile Pharma sites.

Develop engineering standards according to the needs of sites, and taking care of investments and operating costs, in line withprocess requirements and good engineering practices.

Manage design and delivery for the implementation of strategic CAPEX projects and assure engineering designs are in compliance with appropriate internal and external standards, regulations and procedures, including in particular HSE and cGMP practices.

Ensure the identification of technological needs of plants/equipment, depending on production capacities required, the Importante Azienda of business and technology assuring the implementation of CAPEX in the respect of costs, time and results.

Consider best available technology, state of the art of automation and minimization of operating costs/energy consumption/carbon footprint impact when designing and implementing new equipment plants, both in API and sterile areas.

Academic degree in Engineering

Multi-year international experience as Leader of Global/Regional Engineering in Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing environment (API or sterile products) or in Engineering Companies operating in Life science Sector.

Strong project management capabilities.

Deep knowledge of API/Pharma technology end equipment.

Knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

Operational excellence, lean six sigma knowledge.
