We are currently seeking a** Global Retail Merchandising Manager **as part of our dynamic team in Milan.
**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
**BUYING
- Define the buying strategy and the Master Order to drive the selection of the categories (assortment by delivery and store clusters), ensuring fashion direction is followed while balancing and maximizing the commercial and business potential.
- Define OTB in collaboration with Planning to achieve sales and inventory objectives.
- Direct responsibility on assortment and purchases for all EMEA retail channels.
- Creates and fuel a strong working relationship with Corporate Merchandising Team articulating for: market product needs, buying strategy, product delivery flow, pricing strategy and competitive positioning
**IN-SEASON PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Oversee deliveries to ensure satisfactory stock levels and sales performance.
- Analyze trends, reviews existing merchandise to ensure products remain competitive, must have knowledge of market trends and ability to react to changes in demand.
- Analyze selling by model, fabric, color on a seasonal basis to provide feedback to retail management to drive business and to improve future purchase decisions.
Work with Regional Retail Merchandisers to obtain client feedback.
- Create selling reports and provides historical recaps to analyze and communicate business performance and deliver qualitative feedback.
- Communicate frequently with Regional Merchandisers regarding sales and sell-through performance to ensure achievement of targets/objectives.
- Monitor sales performance to identify trends and react accordingly through inter-shop/inter-countries transfers and reorders to seize the business opportunity.
- Review in-season stock consolidation/transfer of merchandise.
- Define Mark Down list and propose actions accordingly to achieve business targets.
- Provide constant product feedback and ideas for development and to maximize business potential.
- Liaise with PR and Marketing for the proper implementation of all the activities.
- Frequent market visits to identify new opportunities and carry out competitor analyses.
**PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
- Ensure preparation of seasonal product training materials to be diffused to all markets.
- Ensure that proper product training and workshops are conducted at the level of local markets for the sales force in the stores.
- Directly support and coordinate local training initiative if and where necessary.
**VISUAL MERCHANDISING
- Co-ordinate with Visual Merchandising team, verify the visual aspects from an image as well as commercial point of view.
- Request and elaboration of new or market specific guidelines as required.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- BA degree in fashion, business and the other related majors
- 8-10 years of retail buying merchandising experience in global luxury brands
- Economic, analytical/numerical background, combined with a knowledge of the world of fashion/ luxury and products
- Thorough in buying process, merchandising strategy and luxury fashion trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong in both verbal and written communication (English is a must, Italian and other languages are a bonus)
- Have a 'can do' attitude - a bias to "yes"
- Strong sensitivity and aesthetic sense, fashion/luxury-oriented
- Passion for international context and for the various social and cultural contexts
- Proficient in MS office especially Excel and Power Point
- Familiarity with Microsoft BI tool
- Commitment to working hands-on for a dynamic and innovative brand with an independent, off-beat mindset
