For an important Italian pharmaceutical company with a strong R&D orientation, we are looking for a:

**GLOBAL TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

The person, will join the Corporate Supply Chain Department and reporting directly to the Warehouse & Transportation Manager, will manage a team of two people.

Moreover, she/he will be in charge of the overall Transportation activities and in particular will be responsible for the following tasks:

- defining and allocating, together with the Procurement team, the primary transports for the Group and monitoring their expenditure;

- collaborating in the definition of annual budgets, forecasts and pre closing of transport to emerging markets, together with the department involved;

- planning and managing shipments to emerging markets and imports outside the EEC, according to quality and safety standards;

- management and negotiating transport by land, air or sea;

- support to Group Branches in matters concerning shipments;

- monitoring the national and international shipping market, evaluing new primary transport modes and opportunities to reduce environmental impact;

- in collaboration with the Legal Department, managing transport insurance issues; with the Import & Export Department, managing customs procedures; with Procurement, defining and drafting transport contracts;

- accounting for Affiliates' transport costs.

- degree in Economics or Management Engineering;

- at least 5 years' experience in a similar role, in large freight forwarders or structured multinational companies;

- good knowledge of customs regulations;

- knowledge of ADR, IATA, IMGD regulations for hazardous transports;

- strong problem solving and negotiation skills combined with good interpersonal skills at all levels;

- knowledge of transportation of perishable materials is a plus;

- knowledge of SAP ERP package is preferred;

- excellent knowledge of the English language.
