Government Manager
TE Connectivity's Government Affairs Teams develop and implement corporate policy through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives.
They serve as company liaison to, and foster relationships with, key members of government and industry groups to promote company interests.
They prepare policy briefings, testimony for pending legislative actions, and provide thought leadership and recommendations as well as ensure appropriate company participation in government forums and industry group meetings.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Owning the design and implementation of policy advocacy plans to represent the company's point of view to decision-makers at both EU and national levels.
- Outreach and networking with government representatives
- Identify business opportunities in new policy initiatives and support internal clients and CEOs in monetizing policies and positive trends (electrification, decarbonization, energy integration, sustainability, mobility, etc.
)
- Proactively identify policy initiatives, regulatory trends, and potential policy risks to support business leaders, product management, supply chain, etc.
by providing timely alerts, advice, and support for risk mitigation plans with a focus on green and sustainable strategies.
- Promoting a culture of sustainability within the company to achieve TE's goal.
- Work with communities and non-governmental organizations to strengthen the company's reputation as a corporate citizen and expand TE's local base.
**Knowledge and Experience required**:
- You are a strong communicator, driven by curiosity to strive for excellence while remaining implementation-oriented with the highest level of integrity and ethics, you also have the ability to develop trusting relationships. - Master's degree in European Studies, Law, sustainability, or Business Administration
- 5 years of professional experience in the field of sustainability
- 10 years of professional experience, ideally in a responsible position in an international company
- Solid knowledge of EU and ideally German legislation
- Ideally 3-5 years of professional experience in government affairs from a corporate perspective
- Strong Experience in strategic engagement with multicultural stakeholders and ability to interact with external decision-makers
- Experience in the technology/industry sector is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills in English (written, oral) and in German (written, oral).
Other language skills, especially Eastern European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel
