Grant Officer And Scientific Project Manager
A Grant Officer position is available in the Research Strategy and Communication Office at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-Tiget), Milan. The Institute SR-Tiget was created in 1996 as a joint venture between Fondazione Telethon and Ospedale San Raffaele (OSR), with the mission to perform cutting-edge research on gene and cell therapy and to translate its results into therapeutic advances for genetic diseases. The Institute is located within the OSR campus, which includes a large multi-disciplinary research hospital, a biomedical research center, a university, and several biotechnology companies. Over the years, SR-Tiget has contributed pioneering discoveries in vector design, gene transfer and gene editing strategies, stem cell biology, and the identity and mechanism of action of regulatory cells in immune responses and innate immune cells in cancer. SR-Tiget has also established resources and a framework for translating these advances into novel experimental therapies and has implemented several successful gene therapy clinical trials. The position The candidate will act as a liaison between the SR-Tiget Research Strategy and Communication Office and the Fondazione Telethon / OSR Grant Offices, providing highly organized coordination to the process of grant scouting, application, and management with the goal of consolidating efficient and tailored support to SR-Tiget scientists. We welcome applications from entry-level candidates willing to gain experience in this kind of position. Main tasks and responsibilities Grant scouting: Identifying suitable sources of funding for the SR-Tiget community and disseminating information about funding opportunities, eligibility, procedures, and deadlines. Grant application: Supporting various aspects of the application process, including eligibility checks, compliance with funding agencies' requests, budget preparation, and collection of scientific and administrative information. Grant management: Supporting the preparation of necessary documents for grant activation and liaising with grant awarding bodies as necessary. Supporting the management of EU-funded projects. Qualifications and skills Background in Life Sciences and experience in academic research (PhD preferred). Knowledge of the national/international research funding landscape and previous experience in supporting grant applications would be considered a plus. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (the candidate is expected to be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel). Can-do attitude and willingness to learn new things. Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships. Ability to work effectively to deadlines, prioritize, and establish effective workflows to streamline processes. Team working and time management skills. We offer Training opportunities.
