Job Description:Main purpose of the role Within our Group R&D Hard Boiled Candy team, we are looking for a Technologist who will manage global multiple Hard Boiled Candy and Lollipop projects of low/medium complexity from formulation development to industrial line design & line start-up, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
What you will do The activities are related to Pilot plant and Industrial Scale Up:
Organize and perform trials and experiments in the pilot plant with the supervision of the Sr Technologist.
Cooperate to innovate or to improve quality and cost of edible parts, also keeping contacts with external suppliers for identifying new ingredient opportunities;Ensure that new products are aligned with Group R&D policies regarding ingredients, claims, and nutritional contents;Lead the laboratory activities in Lainate for new recipes or improvement of existing ones;Record accurately experimental objectives, methods, results, and conclusions;Use internal software by applying proper recipe and process flow logic.
Be able to train the local team on the same;Support the Sr Technologist in organizing and assisting in loco factory trials, liaising with Local R&D teams and external suppliers, defining recipes, process parameters, and product specifications.
Define processes according to PI&D and the process capabilities of the production lines.
Support the execution of technological audits;Assist the Sr Technologist in providing advice/support on product modifications and cost reduction processes in the final product, maintaining quality standards and improving yields;Conduct benchmarking and internal product evaluations.
Perform Benchmark analysis.
Request analysis of tests and/or reference samples.
Characterize products through a range of measurement techniques;Participate in cross-functional team meetings and discussions, aiming for an agreed project plan and timing. Who you are Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, or any other scientific discipline;3 years of experience in confectionery, bakery, or pasta products and processes;Technological knowledge in the confectionery area, especially in hard boiled candy and lollipop technology;Good level of English to sustain technical discussions and report preparation;Good knowledge in product formulation/RMs and candy processes;Attitude to work in a laboratory and with machines;Ability to work collaboratively as a team in different geographical and cultural areas, but also independently from a remote setting;Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;Proactively searching for continuous improvement;Accuracy and attention to detail;Dynamic and flexible, with a high commitment to work.
