Guidance Counselor/Vice Principal of AcademicsGuidance Counselor/Vice Principal of AcademicsCSF is seeking a Guidance Counselor/Vice Principal of Academics for Grades 7-12 who will play a dual role in supporting student success.
This individual will provide academic guidance, personal and career counseling, and oversee academic programs to ensure alignment with Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario Schools.
As a key member of the leadership team, they will contribute to the academic integrity, student wellbeing, and continuous improvement of the school.
Key Responsibilities Guidance Counseling Provide academic and career guidance to students in Grades 7-12, supporting course selections, academic pathways, graduation requirements, post-secondary applications and career planning. Monitor student progress, identify students at risk, and develop intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and parents. Organise university and college visits, information sessions, and career exploration activities. Vice Principal of Academics Oversee academic programming for Grades 7-12, ensuring curriculum delivery aligns with the Ontario curriculum and Growing Success principles. Provide instructional leadership to teachers, supporting best practices in assessment, differentiation, and student engagement. Support the professional development of faculty, facilitating training on assessment, reporting, and student success initiatives. Work closely with the Senior School Principal, Head of School and administrative team on strategic planning for the upper school. Act as a key liaison for parent communication regarding academic progress and concerns. Qualifications & Requirements Qualified Teacher Status with a Bachelor's Degree in Education (Ontario or equivalent). Ontario Guidance AQ, Part 1 (or equivalent certification in guidance counseling). Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of student support services. In-depth knowledge of Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario Schools and experience implementing assessment and reporting policies. Strong ability to develop and support academic programs that foster student success. Demonstrated experience with academic and career counseling in a secondary school setting. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Experience working in an international school setting is an asset. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple responsibilities with a student-centered approach.
