The British School of Milan is seeking an inspiring, enthusiastic, and conscientious teacher to join our thriving Senior School as **Head of Curricular ICT and Geography teacher** to cover for a colleague on maternity
The Head of Curricular ICT and Geography teacher reports to the Head of Science and Head of Geography.
Key responsibilities include:
**Teaching and Learning
- Teach challenging, well-organised lessons and sequences of lessons across the age and ability range in KS3 for ICT and KS4 and IB Diploma for Geography
- Explore opportunities to develop knowledge beyond and below KS3 as appropriate, and in time
- Take responsibility for classroom displays and teaching materials
- Assess students in line with department and school policies
- Set homework according to the timetable, marking it accurately and promptly
- Maintain accurate data records in the school systems, and a record of modules passed
- Contribute to the co-curricular programme
- Contribute to the university preparation programme
- Provide academic support for students as appropriate
- Support the wellbeing and personal development of all students, particularly those in their tutor group
**Professional Knowledge and Understanding
- Good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching and learning strategies, and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential
- Engage in CPD and have ownership in developing own practice
- Contribute to the development of common assessment materials
- Provide feedback to the Head of Science and Head of Geography
- Share good practice with other colleagues and in department and faculty meetings
- Contribute to the moderation of coursework
- Provide the Head of Geography and Head of Science with information on resource needs for the preparation of the budgets
**Personal Responsibility
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Uphold positive values and attitudes, adopting high standards of behaviour in your professional role
- Use non-contact periods for discussions/meetings
- To liaise with the PS ICT Lead and the Senior School Digital Learning Coordinator to ensure continuity between Key Stages
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may reasonably be required from time to time
