About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Director Italy, the Customer Marketing Manager Italy will be the Key collaborator in the market to create and implement all customer and channel plans a. cross the market.
This role will play a key role with marketing and commercial teams primarily to define the End to End process for the Italy Market including Category, Portfolio, Trade Strategy and leading the commercial strategy and execution of the brands in trade.
This position will be responsible for the customer marketing team in Italy, including On trade, Off Trade, C&C and Luxury channels.
Role responsibilities:
- Defining and implementing the customer marketing strategy by sub-channels partnering with head of channels.
- Co-Own the P&L of the Italy business as well as the Share of Market performance in the market.
- Help Diageo Italy become a preferred partner in all sub-channels through best in class activation.
- Work hand in hand with Commercial teams to define the best in class Route to Consumer universe in Italy to win market share.
- Understand customer needs per channel to pin point the activation priorities that deliver the greatest impact on shopper behaviour and the highest return on investment.
- Lead and support the innovation commercialization agenda and plans
- Lead the year customer activation planning cycle and process for the Italian business.
- Build the activation plans around the shopper marketing activities to deliver brilliant execution.
- Lead the sales force briefing of the commercial calendar ensuring the team is fully equipped to win with the provision and selling tools and assets in line with customer activation timings.
- Responsible for A&P for the physical activation (non media)
- Set ambitious activation critical metrics across activities, oversee delivery and lead course correction and recommend new ways of working to constantly improve.
- Co Lead with RGM team the M&E for the channel, to develop comprehensive understanding of behaviour change and corresponding drivers of financial performance.
- Support the Opportunities and Risks process with Channel Directors and finance to enable Diageo to deliver its financial targets ensuring optimum deployment of A&P and efficient management of the customer activation budget with the goal of constantly improving the return on investment.
- Lead, manage and develop a team of 11 reports.
About you
Experience/skills required:
- 10+ years of relevant customer marketing, marketing, and commercial experience in FMCG companies
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect
- Successful management of senior collaborators at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes
- Holistic skills across all marketing pillars as well as a track record of leading transformational business results.
- Being able to excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and matrixed environment.
- A history of working across brand, shopper, commercial, consumer and with external agencies
- Demonstrated brilliant execution to impeccably high standards.
- Deep personal accountability for great performance
- Strong end to end commercial FMCG understanding, alongside high levels of numerical competence
