**About the Role
As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering across multiple locations, projects, and teams worldwide.
In this role, you will have full accountability for the engineering function at a global level, defining strategies and methods to translate market's demands into technical solutions and working closely with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure quality and innovation.
You will report to the Technology Development Director and be part of the Technology Development Leadership Team.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Overall responsibility for Engineering activities across the business
- Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies and procedures to aid and improve business performance
- Have an active role in large/strategic opportunities and projects
- Define and implement engineering guidelines (mechanical, controls, safety, industry-specific protocols)
- Develop and implement global standards, processes and tools, driving continuous improvement across all engineering
- Foster collaboration and innovation while maintaining technical excellence and adherence to global standards and regulations
- Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills
This position will be based in Bologna, Italy.
**What You Need to Be Successful
- Master's degree in Engineering
- At least 10/15 years of relevant work experience in similar companies
- Strong technical professional background
- Record tracking in leading large and complex projects with 3rd party machines integration
- PLM knowledge (Windchill is a plus) and CAD tools (Inventor, Solid Works, AutoCAD)
- Good understanding of controls architecture (Siemens, Rockwell).
Competence in embedded software will be considered a plus
- Excellent managerial skills, both using formal and informal authority
- Focus on execution and results
- International mindset and multicultural teams' management
- Excellent proficiency in English
- Strong aptitude for creating and reinforcing interpersonal relationships
- Successful communication skills to easily build trust towards colleagues and stakeholders
- Effective customer-centric approach
