OBU EUCAN is a key contributor to the continued and future growth of our Oncology business at AstraZeneca.

AZ has been a pioneer in the use of companion diagnostics to support use of precision medicines in oncology.
We continue to invest in precision medicine strategies with over thirty development projects that will deliver potential launches in the next 5 years using novel biomarker strategies as a central part of their development plan.
**What you'll do**:
The Head of Oncology - Italy is the most senior Oncology leadership role in the local marketing company and reports directly to VP, Head of Oncology Europe & Canada.
The Head of Oncology Italy mission is to achieve Oncology P&L targets through the strategic cross-functional planning and flawless execution of creative marketing, sales, diagnostic, innovation, medical and clinical development activities.
As such, in this role, you will have direct reporting lines over the Commercial Franchises and the Medical Affairs department (including all TAs), as well as over Diagnostic & Screening department, and are accountable for Oncology Market Access, Governmental Affairs, Communication and Patient Advocacy through dotted lines reporting of respective teams.
As a member of MC Leadership team, fully participate in the planning and implementation of key transversal MC decisions.
**YOUR MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS**:
- Guarantee a strong focus of the entire Oncology team in delivering our strategy and ambition of eliminating cancer as a cause of death putting always the patients first
- Lead and role modelling of AZ Oncology culture including an innovative and entreprenurial mindset.
- Accountable and role model for our ethics and integrity values for our Oncology activities
- Fully accountable for the local Oncology P&L, including topline targets (volumes and price) and investments/expenses across all departments (with direct or indirect reporting lines)
- Accountable for the local strategic mid-term planning (MTP) and for the appropriate delivery of all BSPs (Brand Strategic Plans)
- Full Management of Commercial franchises, Medical Affairs (direct supervision of OMAH), Diagnostics teams, as well as transversal Oncology teams when relevant
- Define and ensure Market Access, Governmental Affairs, Communication and Patient Advocacy oncology objectives are met
- Constant monitoring of direct and indirect (shared) ressources and review: review and adapt as appropriate: prepare the structure and capabilities for the future pipeline and external environment
- Provide clear direction, coaching and development opportunities to all members of the Oncology BU (OLT)
- Maintain a positive challenging and motivational atmosphere such that all feel that they can contribute to the unit's development and receive appropriate recognition
- Foster a culture of cross-functional work and ownership of Oncology projects
- External focus: Develop strong relations with key stakeholders across the National Health structure and specifically the Oncology ecosystem; maintain contact with relevant advocacy groups in support of AZ Oncology interests
- Liaise closely with all corporate colleagues, maintaining a strong contribution in relation to product development
- As a member of the EUCAN Oncology Leadership Team, actively contribute to EUCAN projects, directly and/or by dedicating team support
- Provide local strategic input into global brands and projects
- Active contribution to advancing, accelerating, simplifying the regional and local working and partnering models and processes towards maximum value creation for patients, healthcare, societies and AstraZeneca
