The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability, and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change.
About the Role: Reporting to the Director of School Meals and Social Protection, the Head of the School Meals Coalition Secretariat leads a team of about 20 staff members supporting all countries and partners of the Coalition.
The role includes managing the Coalition, engaging governments, empowering regional entities, overseeing global and local events, and facilitating communication among members.
Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive): Oversee the strategic and operational coordination of the Secretariat.
Lead high-level political negotiations with governments and partners.
Drive resource mobilization efforts for the Secretariat's operations.
Align the Coalition's objectives with WFP's priorities.
Support the Coalition's co-chairs in representing the Coalition.
Facilitate connections across the Coalition's ecosystem.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with Coalition leaders.
Oversee the organization and execution of high-level events.
Develop and execute advocacy and communication strategies.
Qualifications and Experience: Advanced university degree in relevant fields or first university degree with two additional years of related work experience.
Minimum 11 years of progressively responsible experience in leading large-scale international partnerships.
Proven experience in high-level political negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
Strong track record in resource mobilization.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex teams.
Experience in advocacy and communication strategy development.
Exceptional skills in building partnerships and securing political buy-in.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Language: Fluency in English (level C) and intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language.
