Health & Safety Manager
About The Role**:
**About this opportunity
- Senior professional responsible for advising a client on health & safety issues relating to a large construction projects, from project initiation to completion. - Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project;
- Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor;
- Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site;
- Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship;
- Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client's requirement;
- Managing the client's health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;
- Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations;
- Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work;
- Cooperating with others involved with the project;
- Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;
- Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;
- Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client - this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site;
- Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential;
- Preparing bids for services;
- Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance;

**About You**:
**Who we're looking for**:
**Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
- Sound construction-related health and safety management experience as an owner representative / consultant.
- Experience in industrial construction projects or data centres construction projects with similar job function.
- Experience in delivering services on a live construction site in France.
- Sound knowledge of construction-related national (French) health and safety regulations and standards, as well as international best practices.
- Cohesive knowledge of construction methods.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction.
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
- Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
- Proficiency in English.
