Job Description Looking for an Excavator Operator in Venice, Florida. 7 am until done $24-$26 per hour Key Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures. Perform daily pre-operational safety checks of equipment. Maneuver heavy machinery to move earth, materials, or structures at construction sites. Dig trenches, level surfaces, haul materials, and perform other related tasks. Understand and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes. Monitor operation of equipment and adjust controls to regulate pressure, speed, and flow as needed. Ensure equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly to prevent breakdowns. Assist with minor maintenance and repairs to heavy equipment as needed. Collaborate with other crew members to ensure project deadlines are met. Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring safety for self and others on the job site. Report any malfunctions, damages, or repairs needed to supervisors promptly. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Certification or vocational training in heavy equipment operation. Valid driver's license (CDL may be required depending on the type of machinery). Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator (3 years). Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance procedures for heavy machinery. Ability to read and understand blueprints, maps, and diagrams. Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy workloads. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Will be tested in person on operating machinery. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Ability to sit for long periods while operating equipment. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and noise.
