Hitachi Rail Sts: Signalling Functional Design
Accountabilities Ensure the review of Functional Signalling design requirements allocationand demonstrate the compliance of design documents by the traceability Ensure the delivery of Functional signalling Design (schemes, specificationdocuments, test reports) compliant to project requirements, budget andschedule and to industry standards, company guidelines and processes Ensure the delivery of functional design documentation including systemrequirements and architecture, interface control, scheme plans, controltables, block design, and analysis Ensure the gap identification between customer requirements and companyproducts Ensure the identification of development and procurement needs based oncustomer requirements and identified gaps Ensure the effective implementation of the lessons-learnt database wherethe detected design errors, process and tool inefficiencies and the relatedcorrective actions are duly recorded Ensure the execution of the Verification activities on issued documents, according to the V& V Plan Contribute to the configuration and HW/SW design of the Signalling systemby control of the functional design, and produce or control the versioncontrol sheet if applicable. Required Skills/ Knowledge:
3 up to5 years year of professional experience in Signalling functional design Must have in-depth knowledge of Network Rail signalling principles, signalling equipment, signalling control systems and ETCS (European Train Control System) Trackside and Onboard systems.
Knowledge of the products supplied by Hitachi Rail STS is strongly preferred.
The Principal ETCS & Signalling Engineer must have experience of delivering systems and obtaining product acceptance for interlocking, ETCS or control system products in a live project environment, preferably for Network Rail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with team members located in different offices including excellent standard of English for written communications Ability to communicate complex technical information to people without detailed knowledge of railway signalling systems Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritise duties Previous experience of CRE or DPE (signalling) responsibilities on a range of projects/ technologies. Education/Qualifications Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree or Equivalent Technical BackgroundLanguagesEnglish Proficiency
